Local RC Service & Repair

Not Just Toys offers the best service and repairs for RC vehicles of every type in all of Delmarva. We service most makes and models of RC cars, trucks, boats, planes and even heli’s, both new and old. In fact, we recently had a customer who came in after visiting another hobby shop in Salisbury. He had spent literally hundreds of dollars on repairs to his RC car and he still had problems with the way it ran. After contacting the manufacturer, he was told by them that if our Not Just Toys shop couldn’t fix his car, they would try to replace it. The customer brought his prized RC car to our store and after just a few minutes the main problem became quickly apparent. The car was easily and inexpensively repaired on the spot and is still running perfectly to this day. That customer has since become one of our store’s most avid fans, a Coastal RC Club member and real friend to everyone at Not Just Toys.

The Coastal RC Club continues to grow year after year. We now have almost 200 members and are adding even more Radio Control (R C) sport enthusiasts every month. The Coastal RC Club holds races and demos all year at the store and at various Eastern Shore locations in Worcester, Wicomico & Sussex Counties. About Us

In 2009 while still running a small online business, Jesse & Shari Kimmel took over the operation of a small little hobby shop called Not Just Toys located in historic downtown Berlin, MD. The Kimmels both felt there was a need in the area for the kind of local hobby store that could provide kids, teens and young adults with something other than video game style toys to play with. They wanted to offer the type of products and hobby activities that promoted outdoor activity. At the same time, they also wanted to have another outlet for many of the arts, crafts and homemade candles that they had first begun selling only via the Internet.

Growing up in Florida back in the mid 80’s, Jesse first took up the hobby of racing RC cars & buggies. While he has continued to collect and race them over the years he also saw that there were very few places he could go to shop for specialized parts, repairs and other RC products east of the Chesapeake Bay. With the help of few of his longtime friends with whom he still races his cars, Jesse began to learn more and more about who made the best quality products, and where to purchase quality RC products and parts at the best possible price.

Jesse is now able to share his knowledge and his expertise with other young RC enthusiasts who come from all over the MD/DE Eastern Shore region to visit him at Not Just Toys.

Jesse & Shari’s approach to their business is refreshingly unique. They saw that other hobby shops in the area were often run strictly as profit making business enterprises and that many of the people working in those stores didn’t seem to fully understand the hobby of building, collecting and racing RC cars or other RC vehicles. People working in other hobby stores also seemed to have difficulty answering questions about RC parts, supplies and accessories.

As an active RC enthusiast himself, owner Jesse Kimmel had all sorts of tech knowledge and understands the unique needs of each and every customer. So, the Kimmels decided to run their business differently by running the kind of hobby store that would encourage hobbies and activities that could help both young and old spend more of their time outdoors and playing together.

The formula works! Not Just Toys has quickly become a sought out destination for hobbyists and RC enthusiasts from all over the mid-Atlantic region. Not Just Toys is now recognized as one of area’s top authorized product and parts dealers for many of the most popular RC vehicles, parts, and repair services. We also showcase dozens of classic Revell model kits and Mind Crafts science kits.

We continue to feature many of the latest in collectables from Hot Wheels, plus a unique selection of popular toys, bikes, skateboards, and many other Gen-x type products that are often hard to come by in generic department or toy stores.
